Dairyland Games Return to Verona for 2025

By May 2, 2025July 27th, 2025No Comments

The Dairyland Games, Wisconsin’s premier multi-sport competition for athletes with physical disabilities, is returning for its eighth year — and the excitement is building. Hosted once again at Verona Area High School, the 2025 Games will take place from Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18, bringing together athletes, families, volunteers, and fans from across the Midwest.

Organized by Dairyland Sports, a Wisconsin-based nonprofit dedicated to inclusive sport, the Games serve as a regional qualifier for Move United Nationals, the largest adaptive sports event in the country. The competition welcomes athletes with physical, visual, and intellectual disabilities who meet eligibility under the International Paralympic Committee’s classification system.

Three Days. Three Sports. Countless Stories.
This year’s Games will feature:

  • Para Powerlifting – Friday, May 16

  • Para Swimming – Saturday, May 17

  • Para Track and Field – Sunday, May 18

Admission is free, and spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer on these incredible athletes as they compete for a chance to qualify for nationals — and perhaps one day, the Paralympics.

From its start in 2016 with just 20 youth athletes at Sauk Prairie High School, the Dairyland Games have grown into a major event with over 70 youth and adult participants competing in Verona. But numbers tell only part of the story.

“It only takes one athlete to change a life,” says Deb Jenks, Director of Special Events at Dairyland Sports. “These athletes feel seen. They feel empowered. And that impact ripples far beyond the field of play.”

More Than a Competition
At its core, the Dairyland Games is about community, visibility, and access. For Dairyland Sports Executive Director Jacob Graboski, the Games are part of a larger movement.

“Our small but mighty team believes sport can change the way people think about disability, inclusion, and equity,” Graboski says. “We’re here to build a better future — one where athletes with disabilities have the same access, support, and opportunity as everyone else.”

Registration Now Open
Registration is available for both the Youth Division (ages 6–22) and the Adult Division (ages 23+) through Saturday, May 10. Thanks to generous local support, registration is free for residents of Dane County and United States Warfighters.

Volunteer and Support the Mission
Whether you’re an athlete, a parent, a coach, or simply a fan of adaptive sport, there’s a place for you at the Dairyland Games. Volunteers are always needed and deeply appreciated.
